The Centre is seeking to appoint an experienced, ambitious and research active scholar who has graduate teaching experience and enthusiasm to be the RegNet HDR convenor and graduate coursework co-ordinator. We are particularly interested in candidates with a record or research plans in Asia and the Pacific, a successful applicant for competitive research grants, and an experienced supervisor of graduate students.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS: Position Dimension & Relationships: The Fellow will contribute to and lead aspects of RegNet research and build bridges with other School and College researchers. They will contribute to the Centre and College education by coordinating RegNet’s PhD Program and developing and teaching graduate courses, and engage in the intellectual life of RegNet, the CAP and the wider University community.

Role Statement: Under broad direction of the Director, the Fellow will: 1. Coordinate the RegNet PhD Program and other graduate teaching (including course design, instructor recruitment, and revisions based on student feedback). 2. Act as the Centre’s delegate for HDR matters and liaise with the College on HDR policy, procedure and processing. 3. Undertake high impact independent research with a view to publishing original and innovative results in refereed journals and collaborate with other researchers, taking into account the level of time required for the HDR convenor functions. 4. Actively seek and secure external funding including the preparation of research proposal submissions to external funding bodies. 5. Proactively contribute to all aspects of the operation of the Centre and College, including, outreach activities to the community. 6. Maintain and actively promote high academic standards in all education, research and administration endeavours. 7. Comply with all ANU policies and procedures and in particular those relating to work health and safety and equal opportunity. 8. Other duties as required consistent with the classification level of the position. Selection criteria 1. A PhD, or equivalent research experience in the field of governance / regulation as evidenced by a track record of cited publications in leading peer-reviewed journals and conferences with a research interest in Asia and the Pacific. 2. A demonstrated record of innovative research of national standing and an original and compelling research vision for the activities that they will undertake at the ANU. 3. Demonstrated record of successful bids for competitive external funding to support individual and collaborative research activities. 4. Evidence of contributing to setting an education agenda. 5. Demonstrated experience in managing a PhD program. 6. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and the ability to establish and maintain effective and ethical relationships. 7. A demonstrated understanding of equal opportunity principles, and a commitment to the application of these policies in a university context.
