Conference 'From the management of crisis to the governance of risk: time for a paradigm shift ?'

The Centre for Deliberative Democracy & Global Governance is convening the Second Deliberative Democracy Summer School from 15-17 February 2017. The three-day summer school will focus on classical debates and emerging themes in deliberative theory and practice, including deliberative cultures, representation in the deliberative system and methodological innovations in researching deliberative politics. Participants will have an opportunity to present their work and receive feedback from the speakers and fellow participants.

Short Abstract
The challenge: to explore new ways of studying "politics as usual" by taking inspiration from the conceptual repertoire developed in STS for scrutinizing "science as usual". We invite proposals for papers which mobilize STS concepts, methodologies, and practices in studying "politics as usual".

Themed 'Smart and Inclusive Growth in Urbanization', the 3rd International Conference on Social Policy and Governance Innovation to be held in Guangzhou, China, on 28-29 November 2015 will aim at creating a conducive platform for the discussion on international experiences and Chinese practices in urbanization. The conference particularly encourages studies analyzing how different countries and regions manage various policy challenges in the course of urbanization, as well as governance innovations and policy lessons learned. Both empirical studies and theoretical discussions are welcome.
