We are seeking an outstanding researcher in governance and regulation, with particular expertise in public health law and/or health governance. We want to appoint an experienced, ambitious and research active scholar, who is able to support the Director in providing leadership to the Health, Equity and Governance group, and particularly welcome applications from researchers with a record in public health law and/or health governance. A successful applicant will have won competitive research grants, and be an experienced supervisor of graduate students.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS: Position Dimension & Relationships: The Fellow will support the Director in providing leadership to the Health, Equity and Governance group, and build bridges with other Centre and College researchers. They will contribute to Centre and College education by supervising PhD students and contributing to the teaching of coursework and engage in the intellectual life of RegNet, the College of Asia and the Pacific and the wider University community.
ROLE STATEMENT: In their role as ANU Academic Level C, the appointee will be expected to: 1. Undertake high impact independent research and publish original and innovative results in refereed journals and collaborate with other researchers. 2. Provide intellectual and administrative leadership to the Health, Equity and Governance group 3. Actively seek and secure external funding including the preparation of research proposal submissions to external funding bodies. 4. Contribute to the development and delivery of teaching activities of the Centre and College. 5. Proactively contribute to all aspects of the operation of the Centre and College, including, outreach activities to the community. 6. Maintain and actively promote high academic standards in all education, research and administration endeavours. 7. Comply with all ANU policies and procedures and in particular those relating to work health and safety and equal opportunity. 8. Other duties as required consistent with the classification level of the position. Selection criteria 1. A PhD, or equivalent research experience in the field of governance / regulation and health as evidenced by a track record of cited publications in leading peer-reviewed journals and conferences, with a research interest in Asia and the Pacific. 2. A demonstrated record of innovative research of national and international standing and an original and compelling research vision for the activities that they will undertake at the ANU. 3. Demonstrated record of successful bids for competitive external funding to support individual and collaborative research activities. 4. Evidence of contributing to setting an education agenda. 5. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and the ability to establish and maintain effective and ethical relationships. 6. A demonstrated understanding of equal opportunity principles, and a commitment to the application of these policies in a university context.
