Griffith University is located in South-East Queensland and is one of Australia's largest multi-campus universities, which is home to 43,000 students and 3,500 staff. These positions are based at the Nathan campus, Brisbane. Brisbane is the capital city of Queensland and is Australia's third largest city.

The role: The successful candidate will be expected to publish with the leading journals and/or presses in the field, as well as conduct research broadly oriented around the themes of governance and public policy.

The Fellow will be a member of the Centre for Governance and Public Policy and associated with the School of Government and International Relations. In 2012 political science at Griffith University received the highest possible rating in the Australian government's research assessment exercise.

The person: To be successful in the role candidates must have: · a doctorate in political science or related field, · a track record of publications in the leading book presses and/or leading international journals in the field; · a demonstrated program of research in political science. Preference will be given to those candidates whose research focus is in any of the following areas: Public Policy, Political Philosophy, Comparative Politics (all areas), American Politics, Australian Politics · evidence of the potential to obtain competitive research funding. The successful candidate is expected to take up the position in 2015.

Salary range: Research Fellow, Grade 1: AUD $65,698 - $77,281 per annum. Salary package including 17% superannuation contribution (pension scheme): AUD $76,867 - $90,420 per annum.
