Main Conference Theme

"Spreading Standards, Building Capacities: European Administrative Space in Progress"

May 19 -21, 2016, Zagreb, Croatia

The event is organised in cooperation with the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, Croatia.

The research committee on the ‘Structure and Organisation of Government’ (SOG) have advised us of the panels that they are organising at the IPSA Congress in Istanbul in July 2016.  If you are interested in presenting a paper to one of the panels, then please contact the panel chair(s) directly and submit an abstract of no more than 1500 characters (approx. 250 words). Please do so before 10 September 2015. The panel convenors will then put the panels together and submit the completed panel proposals to IPSA. The deadline is a fixed one as the overall timeline is very tight.

The Lee Kuan School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore, Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada and the Scuola Normale Superiore in Florence, Italy invite proposals for papers to be presented at the International Workshop on “Designing Governance for Policy Effectiveness” to be held in Singapore on 25-26 February 2016.
 

The Lee Kuan School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore and the Centre for Globalization, Peace and Democratic Governance at the Koc University, Turkey invite proposals for participating in the International Workshop on “Institutional and Policy Design in Financial Industry Reform” to be held in Istanbul on 24-25 September 2015.

The objective of the workshop is to examine comparative reform of the financial services industry with special reference to institutional and policy design in theory and practice aimed at enhancing sector stability and discouraging excessive risk taking.

Interest groups and public policy: Mobilization, lobbying strategies and influence on policy 20 - 28 July 2015, University of Hamburg

The Summer School aims to provide students of Political Science and Public Administration sound knowledge about organized interests and lobbying organizations. The 6th ECPR Summer School on Interest Group Politics takes places at the University of Hamburg and focuses on interest groups and their impact on public policy. Through a variety of theoretical and methodological courses taught by renowned interest group scholars from Europe and the US, students will learn about the different stages of the lobbying process involving the mobilization, the strategies and the influence that interest groups exert on public policy.

The Association for Public Policy and Management (APPAM) has announced that the subject of its 2015 Fall Research Conference will be 'The Golden Age of Evidence-Based Policy' It is not clear when the golden age was/is/will be, but those wanting to find out can gather November 12 - 14 in Miami, FL at the Hyatt Regency Miami.

Proposals for papers are now being accepted. The final deadline for submitting all proposals is April 10, 2015. No extensions will be granted!

The main themes to be covered at the IPSA World Congress in Istanbul in 2o16 have now been announced.

The call for papers will be issue on 20 May.
