Submission

Scholars and experts are invited to submit panel proposals on themes pertaining to different aspects of policy complexity and their implications in the globalized world. All submissions should be uploaded to conference website by September 30, 2015. The Steering Committee will review the panel proposals and select the most suitable ones. Upon evaluation the committee may suggest that prospective Chairs consolidate and combine their panels. Each panel may have a maximum of five papers.

Themes

The themes could focus on specific theoretical frameworks and issues (such as the theories of institutionalism), particular topical concerns (such as the role of the state) or specific policy domains (such as public health). We plan to have panels in, though not limited to, the following clusters:

  • Government information processing and agenda dynamics
  • Policy networks in state-centered systems
  • Public policy as collective problem-solving

The Environment

  • Intergovernmental and multilevel governance and the environment
  • Participatory approaches in environmental protection
  • Policy transition from pollution control to sustainable development

Ageing Society

  • Public policy for age-friendly communities
  • Long-term care policy
  • Collaborative policy implementation for elderly care

Conflict Resolution

  • Civic engagement in socially divided communities
  • Policy entrepreneurship for conflict resolution
  • Policy response to transboundary conflicts

Structural Reform

  • Policy adaptations to trade and market integration
  • New regulatory framework for the agents of globalization
  • Engaging NGOs in cross-border governance
