The successful candidate will be expected to take an active part in a research program and will have a demonstrated research interest within one of three areas of research priority for JSGS: Innovation, Science and Technology Policy; Social Policy and Inequality; and Governance. The candidate should also expect to teach at least three classes per year and be prepared to indicate which of the core courses of the school’s Master of Public Administration (MPA) curriculum they are qualified to teach. The school offers courses throughout the year in a variety of formats and the start date for the appointment is flexible but will not be later than July 1, 2017.

 

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in any relevant subject area. In exceptional circumstances, applicants who are close to completion of a PhD may be considered. Considerable professional experience and/or research expertise in a relevant field will also be considered. University teaching experience at the graduate level is an asset, as is a record of publication; and experience working with government or industry.

Salary bands for this post are as follows: Assistant Professor - $93,293 – $112,109; and Associate Professor - $112,109 - $130,925.
