Assistant Professor in Political Science/International Relations, Faculty of Business, Government & Law (Academic Level B/C)

The Faculty of Business, Government and Law (BG&L) at the University of Canberra has a vibrant teaching and research environment. It is home to over 4000 students, including more than 150 registered higher degree by research students, located in four schools: Government and Policy; Information Systems and Accounting; Law and Justice; and Management. The Assistant Professor in Political Science/International Relations will provide outstanding academic and research leadership in the area of political science, public policy and/or international relations. The appointee will promote the Faculty with the academic and professional communities in Australia and contribute to the Faculty's teaching, research, program development and service at a national level.

The successful candidate will have experience and a proven track record as a teacher and researcher and will be able to demonstrate how they will contribute to the research and education goals of the School of Government & Policy. He/she is also expected to build a well-funded research program in the Faculty's priority fields of research, and to actively engage with industry and government agencies. A commitment to teach a variety of subjects at undergraduate, Masters and PhD level is required together with willingness to fill administrative roles commensurate with the position. We are particularly interested in candidates interested in teaching in the area of public policy.
