The Graduate School of Public Policy of Nazarbayev University invites applications for full-time positions at all ranks to begin in 2015. We are interested in candidates with strong research and teaching interest in two or more of the following areas:
Public Management Public Finance Regulatory government Public administration/NPM Regional and local government Comparative political systems
A specialist in these areas will provide leadership and foster excellence in the Graduate School of Public Policy's teaching and research activities and community engagement. Successful candidates will maintain a vigorous research programme and contribute to departmental administration in addition to teaching. Ph.D. required.
Nazarbayev University, located in Astana, Kazakhstan, was created with the support of leading universities (www.nu.edu.kz). The Graduate School of Public Policy's partner is the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (www.spp.nus.edu.sg) of the National University of Singapore. The School (gspp.nu.edu.kz) offers a Masters in Public Policy and is planning to launch a Masters in Public Administration and part-time PhD programmes in 2015. Compensation includes an internationally competitive salary, medical benefits, child education allowance, housing and travel.
Selection criteria:
internationally acknowledged track record of successful research in the policy sector; evidence of sustained ability to foster research; track record of successful external partnership, the conduct of applied research and the ability to generate research grants; and, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with respect to building and leading teams.
