Two positions are available in the Sociology and Policy group in the School of Languages and Social Sciences at Aston University, 1 Lectureship and 1 Senior Lectureship. The closing date for the posts is the 10th August and interviews will take place on 12th September.
Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (up to two positions) - Sociology and Policy group Languages & Social Sciences Salary: £32,590 to £53,765 per annum The level of appointment will be dependent upon academic qualifications and experience (2% pay award effective 1 August 2014) Contract Type: Continuing Basis: Full Time Closing Date: Sunday 10 August 2014 Interview Date: Friday 12 September 2014 Reference: R140217 The appointment for Lecturer is at either Grade 8 (salary range £32,590 – £36,661 per annum) or Grade 9 (salary range £37,756 - £45,053 per annum). The level of appointment will be dependent upon academic qualifications and experience The Salary range for a Senior Lecturer is £46,400 to £53,765 per annum The School of Languages and Social Sciences is an ambitious, expanding, multidisciplinary School with an established reputation for excellence in teaching and research. We are seeking up to two enthusiastic and successful scholars with a strong commitment to teaching and learning and an appropriate research profile to join our Sociology and Policy Group. One appointment may be made at Senior Lecturer level. You will have a research profile that fits within the broad themes of Inequality, Diversity and Social Justice, and/or Critical Policy Analysis. For appointment as a Lecturer you will have started to establish a record of high quality scholarly publications or have the potential to do so and you will have, or expect to obtain in the near future, a relevant PhD. For appointment as a Senior Lecturer you will also have an excellent record of publications in international journals and the capacity to secure external research grant funding, together with evidence of leadership skills.
