The conference aims to bring together doctoral students from around the world working on critical public policy issues in Asia. Papers should preferably be related to one of the following seven themes: sustainable development, economic policy, urban policy, social policy, public management, politics, or international relations in Asia. Other topics are also welcome.

Paper proposals should be up to 500 words long and include the following information: proposed title, name of author(s), institutional affiliation, email address, up to 8 keywords, key aims and objectives, theoretical justification for the work, methodology, and expected outcomes. Proposals should be sent topublicpolicyinasia@gmail.com by 15 February 2014. The full papers for the selected proposals are due by 30 April 2014.

Proposals for presenting papers at the conference are invited from students currently enrolled in a PhD programme. Conference grants covering air travel, meals and accommodation in Singapore are available on a competitive basis. The proposed topic’s relevance to Asia and methodological rigour will be the main criteria for awarding the available grants.
